Why this page exists

Some of the databases that power MuscleBuddy's nutrition features are open data with licenses that require attribution and, in the case of Open Food Facts, share-alike. This page is our standing acknowledgement of those sources and the licenses under which we use them.

If you spot data you believe is misattributed or used outside its license, email garrett@garrettmakesit.com and we will correct it.

Open Food Facts (ODbL)

Open Food Facts is a collaborative, free, and open database of food products from around the world. Its database is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0 and its individual contents under the Database Contents License. Under the ODbL, any database we derive from it that we publicly distribute would itself be offered under the same share-alike terms. Product photos contributed to Open Food Facts are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike. © Open Food Facts contributors.

USDA FoodData Central

Generic, whole-food nutrition values come from USDA FoodData Central, a product of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. As a work of the U.S. Government it is in the public domain and carries no attribution requirement; we credit it here only for transparency.
