Community Guidelines
The MuscleBuddy community is here to help each other train, eat, and live healthier. These guidelines keep it a place worth showing up to. Last updated: July 8, 2026.
The short version
Be respectful, be honest, and remember there’s a real person behind every profile. Share your progress, ask questions, and help people out. Don’t harass anyone, don’t spam, and don’t use the community to buy or sell drugs. If you wouldn’t say it to someone at your gym, don’t post it here.
These guidelines apply everywhere you post: the feed, comments, forums, challenges, usernames, and profile content. They work alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your account overall.
Be respectful
Everyone here is at a different point in their journey, and everyone deserves to feel welcome. Harassment, bullying, threats, and hate speech have no place in the community.
Specifically, don’t: target anyone with slurs or hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or body type; bully, demean, or pile on another member; sexually harass anyone or post unwanted sexual content; or encourage self-harm, disordered eating, or dangerous behavior.
Our systems automatically block posts containing slurs and hateful or harassing language before they’re ever published. This filtering is deliberately tuned for a fitness, hormone, and bloodwork community, where legitimate anatomy and health terms come up constantly and are never blocked, so what gets stopped is genuine hate speech and targeted abuse, not clinical vocabulary.
Keep it civil
We’re adults, and gym talk gets salty. Casual profanity and blunt, direct feedback are fine. We’re not here to police the word “damn” or an honest “that form looks off.” What crosses the line is turning language on a person: profanity aimed at someone as an insult, name-calling, and personal attacks are harassment, not banter.
The test is simple: swearing about your workout is fine; swearing at another member is not. Critique the idea, the program, or the form, never the person.
No spam or self-promo abuse
Genuine recommendations and sharing what works for you are welcome: that’s half the point of a community. What’s not welcome is turning the community into a billboard.
Don’t: post repetitive or bulk content; run affiliate-link or dropshipping schemes; farm follows, likes, or engagement; impersonate other people or brands; or repeatedly push a product, coaching service, or off-platform channel. If your posts are mostly promotion, they’re spam.
Age-gated topics: enhancement, PEDs, and contest prep
MuscleBuddy supports honest, harm-reduction discussion of performance-enhancing drugs, hormones, and advanced contest-prep protocols, because pretending these things don’t exist doesn’t make anyone safer. That discussion lives in dedicated 18+ forum categories, and you must verify you’re 18 or older to see or post in them.
These spaces are for reducing harm: sharing bloodwork experiences, discussing side effects and how to manage them, comparing recovery and PCT approaches, and helping people make informed decisions. They are not a marketplace. Do not use MuscleBuddy to source, buy, sell, advertise, or connect people to suppliers of any controlled or prescription substance. No sourcing, no dealing, no “DM me,” no source reviews. Full stop. Posts that attempt it are removed, and repeat attempts get you banned.
Nothing in these spaces is medical advice, and “someone on the forum said so” is not a prescription. See below.
Safety: this is not medical advice
MuscleBuddy and its community are a fitness and wellness resource, not a healthcare provider. Nothing posted here, by other members, by coaches, or by our AI features, is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Always consult a physician or other licensed provider before starting or changing an exercise program, diet, supplement, medication, or hormone protocol, and never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read in the community. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately. You act on community information at your own risk.
Reporting and enforcement
Moderation is a shared effort, and reporting is the main way you help keep the community healthy. Every post, comment, forum thread, and reply has a report control. Use it whenever you see something that breaks these guidelines.
How it works: when three different members report the same piece of content, it’s automatically hidden from the community pending review. From there our admins review reported content, remove what violates these guidelines, and restore anything caught by mistake. You can also block any member to remove their content and interactions from your experience entirely.
Enforcement scales with the behavior. Depending on severity and history, consequences follow a ladder:
- Warning: a first, minor slip usually gets a heads-up and the content removed.
- Content removal: violating posts are taken down.
- Suspension: repeated or more serious violations pause your access to the social features.
- Ban: severe violations (sourcing or dealing drugs, hate speech, threats, harassment campaigns) or continued violations after warnings end in removal from the community.
Severe violations can skip straight to suspension or a ban. We enforce these guidelines at our discretion to protect the community, and submitting deliberately false reports is itself a violation.
